Your Next Move… Is It Time To Downsize?

We are pleased to announce that Michael Kennedy will be on a panel of estate planning and downsizing professionals on Wednesday November 9, 2016, starting at 2pm at Life After Fifty in the WFCU Centre located at 8787 McHugh St., Windsor, Ontario.

“Downsizing is an opportunity to unlock home equity to generate retirement income, pay down debt, or simply enjoy life.  For most people, their house is their biggest asset.  It’s also their biggest expense.  But when it comes to retirement planning, a house often falls to the bottom of the list involving changes in later life.”

Michael will focus on the cross border estate planning needs for Canadian snowbirds with property in Florida and throughout the United States.  Whether you currently own property in the U.S. or are interested in learning about property ownership in the U.S., this event is for you.

Likely questions to answered include:
1. What happens to my property in the United States upon my death?
2. How does the U.S. Estate Tax affect me?
3. How long can we spend in the United States each year?
4. Do I need a separate Will and Power of Attorney to cover my property in the United States?

Panelists include:
